This Full-time position is structured for a mid-senior level practitioner ready to lead high-impact client and executive stakeholder charters and deliver cross-regional delivery standards and center-of-excellence playbooks.
This charter requires 5 to 10 years of progressive experience, combining deep domain fluency in Plant Operations, TPM & Kaizen, Production Planning with disciplined execution via OKR Governance Frameworks and Financial Modeling & Forecasting. You will interface directly with C-suite executives, practice heads, and global enterprise clients to ensure every milestone meets L&T Heavy Engineering's quality bar.
The Principal maintenance position at L&T Heavy Engineering (Jamshedpur) carries an annual CTC range of ₹16L – ₹28L per annum (approx. ₹1,33,333 – ₹2,33,333 per month gross), benchmarked to mid-senior level standards in Engineering & Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead comprehensive plant manufacturing operations, production planning, and machine capacity utilization for L&T Heavy Engineering.
- Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Kaizen, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles across all shop floors.
- Direct plant maintenance, supply chain coordination, equipment uptime, and safety (EHS) compliance.
- Manage plant P&L, operational budgets, capital expenditure (CapEx), and headcount optimization.
- Lead new product industrialization (NPI/NPD), tooling readiness, and SOP milestone gate reviews.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- 5 to 10 years of verified leadership experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial plant operations.
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Automobile Engineering (MBA or Six Sigma Black Belt is an advantage).
- Demonstrated expertise in OEE improvement, IATF 16949 quality benchmarks, and plant workforce management.
- Strong commercial acumen, budget oversight, and leadership presence.
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Prior exposure to scaling enterprise transformation initiatives and delivery governance within Engineering & Manufacturing teams in Jamshedpur or comparable Indian enterprise hubs.
- Familiarity with automation workflows, OKR Governance Frameworks and Financial Modeling & Forecasting, and modern reporting standards.
- Experience mentoring cross-functional contributors or managing end-to-end delivery SLAs.
