About the Role
nference is expanding its Software Engineering charter in Bengaluru, Karnataka with the addition of a Senior Data Scientist. Operating within a on-site operational center in Bengaluru, Karnataka, this mid-senior level mandate centers on distributed application services and resilient API gateways while strengthening high-throughput data processing engines and customer-facing product modules.
In day-to-day execution, the Senior Data Scientist partners closely with product managers, principal architects, and QA automation pods to translate quarterly business priorities into clean, production-hardened code with automated unit and integration test coverage. You will leverage Git, Docker & Kubernetes and Modern Cloud Stacks (AWS/Azure/GCP) alongside core competencies in Problem Solving, Team Collaboration, System Design, TypeScript / Java / Python to maintain high operational rigor.
The Senior Data Scientist position at nference (Bengaluru) carries an annual CTC range of ₹16L – ₹22L per annum (approx. ₹1,33,333 – ₹1,83,333 per month gross), benchmarked to mid-senior level standards in Software Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct periodic diagnostic audits on P95 API latency, deployment frequency, and production uptime (99.9%+) and present data-backed optimization recommendations to nference leadership.
- Design, review, and publish clean, production-hardened code with automated unit and integration test coverage while maintaining strict governance across P95 API latency, deployment frequency, and production uptime (99.9%+).
- Apply hands-on expertise in Problem Solving, Team Collaboration, System Design and Git, Docker & Kubernetes and Modern Cloud Stacks (AWS/Azure/GCP) to elevate output quality and execution speed.
- Mentor peers and junior contributors within the Software Engineering pod, fostering high accountability and continuous process improvement at nference.
- Lead distributed application services and resilient API gateways for nference's Software Engineering function in Bengaluru, ensuring full alignment with quarterly delivery roadmaps.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical industry experience required for Mid-Senior Level roles.
- Strong working knowledge of Git, Docker & Kubernetes and Modern Cloud Stacks (AWS/Azure/GCP) with the ability to synthesize complex operational data into clear decisions.
- Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in Problem Solving, Team Collaboration, System Design, TypeScript / Java / Python within a fast-paced enterprise or high-growth environment.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills for collaborating with product managers, principal architects, and QA automation pods in a Onsite setup in Bengaluru.
- Proven track record of owning clean, production-hardened code with automated unit and integration test coverage and driving measurable gains in P95 API latency, deployment frequency, and production uptime (99.9%+).
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Prior exposure to scaling high-throughput data processing engines and customer-facing product modules within Software Engineering teams in Bengaluru or comparable Indian enterprise hubs.
- Familiarity with automation workflows, Git, Docker & Kubernetes and Modern Cloud Stacks (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern reporting standards.
- Experience mentoring cross-functional contributors or managing end-to-end delivery SLAs.
