You will leverage APM & Distributed Tracing and Git, Docker & Kubernetes alongside core competencies in Machine Learning, System Design, TypeScript / Java / Python, Microservices to maintain high operational rigor.
The Senior Applied Scientist, International Machine Learning position at Amazon (Bengaluru) carries an annual CTC range of ₹17L – ₹26L per annum (approx. ₹1,41,667 – ₹2,16,667 per month gross), benchmarked to mid-senior level standards in Software Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply hands-on expertise in Machine Learning, System Design, TypeScript / Java / Python and APM & Distributed Tracing and Git, Docker & Kubernetes to elevate output quality and execution speed.
- Mentor peers and junior contributors within the Software Engineering pod, fostering high accountability and continuous process improvement at Amazon.
- Lead high-throughput data processing engines and customer-facing product modules for Amazon's Software Engineering function in Bengaluru, ensuring full alignment with quarterly delivery roadmaps.
- Partner with DevOps platform teams, security engineers, and UX designers to streamline workflows, resolve cross-team bottlenecks, and accelerate cloud-native microservices and automated deployment pipelines.
- Establish repeatable SOPs and performance instrumentation for observability telemetry, latency optimizations, and zero-downtime releases across the Bengaluru (Karnataka) operating unit.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Proven track record of owning security-compliant service modules with strict error handling and failover and driving measurable gains in defect escape rate, code review turnaround, and throughput scalability.
- 4 to 8 years of progressive experience in Software Engineering or closely aligned roles comparable to Senior Applied Scientist, International Machine Learning.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills for collaborating with DevOps platform teams, security engineers, and UX designers in a Onsite setup in Bengaluru.
- Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in Machine Learning, System Design, TypeScript / Java / Python, Microservices within a fast-paced enterprise or high-growth environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical industry experience required for Mid-Senior Level roles.
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Prior exposure to scaling cloud-native microservices and automated deployment pipelines within Software Engineering teams in Bengaluru or comparable Indian enterprise hubs.
- Familiarity with automation workflows, APM & Distributed Tracing and Git, Docker & Kubernetes, and modern reporting standards.
- Experience mentoring cross-functional contributors or managing end-to-end delivery SLAs.
